For such systems to operate it is really hard to fix them. The reason being, special tools those are required to diagnose and repair. Before calling any repairman it is suggested to give your system a try so as to save you some money.
Before You Begin
The very first step you need to follow is to pen down the serial number and model of your gas furnace along with the date of manufacturer. You need to take off the furnace cover and check for the side panels in the burner area. This is where you can find the product details.
Another thing to take notice is to shut off the power connection to the controls when the front panel is removed. Before replacing any parts you must clear that there is no power coming to the system. The front panel must not be off if you are running the furnace.
Restarting the furnace can be another thing you may try. Flip the switch of the furnace to off and then wait for another five minutes and then try restarting it. Try flipping off the breaker on and off before replacing any parts.
Next thing to look for is the filters, if it is clogged. A filter which is clogged will not let the air flow causing overheating in the furnace. If the filter is filthy, you have been to the cause of shutdown. Try replacing it with a new one. And if it is still not working may be the overheating has caused damage to the switch. This calls for the switch to change. Replace the old switch with a new in the same position as it was.
Preventive Measure
Another step is to clear the pressure and water in the tube by connecting one end of the tube to the air gun and other to the floor. This reduces the pressure that is created with condensate in the tubing. Another preventive measure is that the tubing must be blown with compressed air.
